Information and Technology Studies

Department Head: Mr. Reg Young

The scope of the technology program at South Carleton is broad, encompassing computer science, communications technology, computer engineering, construction, food and nutrition, transportation, technological design and manufacturing.

Twenty-two different courses are offered, which equates to 46 classes and 850 available student placements. These courses appeal to both male and female students and the design concepts taught are integrated into practice. Many varieties of projects are undertaken to acquire and enhance the skills and knowledge of the students.

The department’s teaching staff brings together an array of knowledge and skills in all areas of industry and technology. Strong links to area colleges and universities, including site visits, introduce students to technology as a viable career option.
