The following databases may be accessed by students at school and at home. Click here for user names and passwords for all of our online resources. Passwords may also be obtained from the Library Learning Commons or downloaded from the Library Handout folder.

Teen Health & Wellness Provides curricular support and self-help on topics including diseases, drugs & alcohol, nutrition, mental health, family life, sexuality and more.
World Religions Explores religion and spirituality in an unbiased manner, from the ceremonies of the first practitioners to the rituals of today. Naxos Music Library The world's largest classical music library offers streaming access to more than 1,572,700 tracks. Also features jazz, classic rock, and background information.
book Includes more than 150,000 multimedia resources including feature films, documentary videos, images, and articles.

Canadian Points of View Reference Centre

Provides students with a series of essays that present multiple sides of 185 issues.

book This database includes leading Canadian and international periodicals as well as many Canadian reference books and an image collection containing more than one million photos, maps and flags. The collection also includes images from Canadian Press. GreenFILE Free research database covering human impact on the environment.
history Contains full text for thousands of primary source documents, journals, reference books, etc. literacy Contains information on thousands of authors and their works through literary journals, reference works, author interviews, etc.

Online Encyclopedias

The following encyclopedias may be accessed by students at school and at home. Check with Library staff for user IDs and passwords for home use, or look in the Library Handout folder for Passwords for Online Resources.

Britannica for High School A trusted general reference encyclopedia.
Canadian Encyclopedia Available in French and English. No password required.
book This database provides over 25,000 encyclopedic entries covering a variety of subject areas.
Universalis Junior French language learning tool appropriate for grade 9-10 Core French students, contains encyclopedia articles, atlas, news, and a French-English dictionary.
Universalis Senior An extensive collection of French language resources appropriate for grade 11-12 Core French and all Immersion students. In addition to 38000 encyclopedia articles, it contains an atlas, timelines, news and current events, and multimedia.
