Character
Education at SCHS
In support of SC Character Education Initiatives, each month
has been designated a particular character trait. These
themes were selected by a teacher committee and are integrated
into the curriculum and may be the focus of class lessons.

September – Courage
Have the strength to do what is right even when it is not
popular. . Speak up for yourself and others. |
February – Empathy
Attempt to understand and share the feelings of others.

October – Optimism
Have hope for the future. Try to find the good in every
situation.

March - Initiative
Do what needs to be done without being told. Have a fresh
approach.

November – Respect
Value yourself and others. Be considerate of the feelings
and rights of self and others. |
April - Responsibility
Be accountable for your thoughts, words, and actions. Honour
your commitments.

December – Believe
Have confidence in yourself and in others.
|
May - Fairness
Treat people equally without self-interest, prejudice, or
favouritism. Treat others the way you would like to be treated.

January – Perseverance
Finish what you start even when it is difficult.

June – Integrity
Be honest and moral.
Mean what you say and say what you mean.
